Amateur musicians between the ages of 4 and 18 are eligible for the application. Professional musicians are not allowed to compete.


Competition Eras:

Competitors must play pieces from either the Baroque, Romantic, or Classical eras.


Skill levels:

The festival encourages young musicians (4-18 years of age) of ALL skill levels and abilities, from the aspiring novice to the highly-trained and experienced musician. There are categories for you to consider regardless of your skill development:

Category A (4-6 years old) - 3 minute limit
Category B (7-9 years old) - 5 minute limit
Category C (10-12 years old) - 6 minute limit
Category D (13-15 years old) - 8 minute limit
Category E (16-18 years old) - 10 minute limit

  • Competition takes place at William Jessup University (2121 University Ave, Rocklin, CA 95765)

  • Please check in 20 minutes prior to your warm-up time

  • Warm up rooms are for participants and accompanists only.

  • Participants will be escorted from practice rooms to the stage by volunteers of CMMF

  • Awards are given out at the end of the day for all categories.

  • Please bring original music to show at check in (not taken) and 2 copies that can be disposed of

  • You are welcome to take pics (no flash) and video of your own student only

  • Stages are open for you to enjoy the competition during the whole day. Come enjoy these fabulous musicians!
